Browned Butter Sourdough Cookies

Meet Goldies — our signature buttery cookie with a tender, melt-in-your-mouth crumb and a delicate crunch of turbinado sugar on top.

Each batch begins with butter slowly browned until golden and nutty, then infused with real vanilla while still warm. Combined with sourdough discard and baked in small batches, the result is a rich, deeply flavorful cookie with crisp edges, a tender crumb, and notes of caramel, vanilla, and toasted butter in every bite.

Inspired by traditional French sablé cookies, Goldies are a little more delicate than classic shortbread and just as irresistible alongside coffee, tea, or a cold glass of milk.

Ingredients

Browned butter (unsalted butter), T45 flour, sourdough discard (T45 flour, filtered water), powdered sugar (sugar, cornstarch), egg yolk, vanilla bean, Baja Gold salt.

Storage

Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Best enjoyed within 5–7 days for peak flavor and texture. To extend shelf life, freeze for up to 2 months — let thaw at room temperature or warm briefly to restore that buttery snap.
